Andi & Vincent
Dresser Mansion Wedding
Tulsa Oklahoma
.
I didn’t give much thought to Tulsa Oklahoma until I went there a few months ago for Andi & Vincent’s Dresser Mansion wedding. But now I think about it all the time. I love that place! Not just because of the catchy show tunes but because my photography peeps are there.
Andi is a wedding photographer based in Tulsa Oklahoma. When she asked me if I would join Brett Birdsong for her big day, I was both excited and nervous. I love working with Brett. We have this weird symbiotic relationship where I run around like a headless chicken and he stands there like Joe Cool. For some reason, it works for us. But I was also nervous because wedding photography is a pretty big deal to normal people, but it’s a fricken huge deal for a photographer. Which is probably why there were two photographers plus two videographers. This was an extremely well-documented wedding.
And it was a fun one, too! After the emotional First Look, the entire wedding party, two photographers, two videographers, seven cameras and an absurd collection of lenses boarded a trolley for downtown Tulsa. Everyone was in high heels and high spirits. Remember that sage advice your mother gave you about not playing in traffic? Well, we basically ignored that. But no one seemed to be in much of a hurry since most of the vehicles just crawled past while passengers waved iPhones at the large group of impeccably dressed people. They would have stopped altogether if we had brought the four-legged, tuxedo-wearing attendant.
By the time the wedding rolled around, I was already close to Andi so I was thrilled when I finally got to meet Vince. I love that he wears his heart on his sleeve. His emotions were on the surface the whole day as evidence by his ear to ear grin during the first dance and his tears of gratitude during each heartfelt speech. It was an emotional day for all of us and I’m glad I was a part of it. But thank goodness for the booze and fake mustaches. Those two ingredients are guaranteed to kick things up a notch.
