Priscilla and Jason’s Bunker’s Cove backyard wedding was nothing like the mental image those words conjure up. I think of George Banks in Father of the Bride when he envisions a wedding barbecue decorated with mason jars of wildflowers. But just like the movie, the reality was far more elaborate. The end result was a stunning display that shows what a large team of hard-working creatives can do.

The reception took place at Priscilla’s childhood home in one of Panama City’s oldest neighborhoods. And like George Banks, Priscilla’s father, Doug was busy inspecting it all – even picking up leaves as he made his way to each corner of the yard. Actually, the only two people exuding total calm that day were Jason and Priscilla. Once Jason mastered his old fashioned bow tie, it was pretty much smooth sailing. And when left without a ride to the church, Priscilla calmly decided to take her own car. No matter what was happening around them, both Priscilla and Jason were grounded by each other.

As the sunset over the bay, these two happily married lovebirds finally let loose on the dance floor alongside two hundred joyful attendees. It was a truly unforgettable night in the most elegant of settings. I’ll certainly never forget their sparkler exit. As Jason and Priscilla jumped into their getaway boat, Priscilla slipped under the water. I held my breath but should have realized Priscilla can even fall with grace and humor. Jumping up laughing, these two ended the night to a chorus of cheers and an impressive 9.8 score on the dismount.
