St George is one of those small towns where everyone knows everyone and southern hospitality is as common as sweet tea. Which is why Beau naturally assumed Erika wasn’t flirting with him, she was just being nice to the knew guy. Nestled in between the mountains behind California’s Monterey coast sits the historic Los Laureles Lodge in Carmel Valley. This is where Meegan and Michael spent the entire weekend celebrating their wedding. If you didn’t have the good fortune of being there, then you totally missed out. Despite the fact a rather large fire was just a few miles away, it was pretty much a perfect weekend.

When I saw there was a workshop being taught in Portland, Oregon by my favorite photographers, I forgot that one should never make large financial decisions while suffering from insomnia at 5am.
I met fellow cake addict, Alexandra, through Instagram almost exactly two years ago. She and I both spend too much time checking out confections, but at least eating them is less time consuming. When she and Leroy started planning their Detroit wedding, she emailed me to see if I would be interested in traveling to the mitten state to provide their Detroit wedding photography. She then sweetened the deal by divulging their wedding cake was going to be a massive 1980’s spread complete with fountain and stairs. Oh hell yes.
Sometimes when you’re driving through Alabama it’s exactly what you’d expect. A mix of rolling hills, flat lands, and some Lynyrd on the radio. Yet sometimes Alabama will catch you by surprise. It certainly did when I was driving to Tori and Kendall’s Alabama barn wedding. This was a surprisingly classy barn. Seriously, it was a hidden gem of a venue and this couple hired some world class vendors to create a fun and beautiful (albeit rainy) wedding day.
A few months ago, I met Thomas and Chris down the coast in Apalachicola for their engagement session. They were in town from Atlanta to work on wedding details and meet vendors. They had originally planned on a beach wedding. However, after googling Apalachicola weddings, they saw the blog of Sarah & Charles fabulous chic-ola wedding reception and they actually changed their wedding venue!
Destin Bay House is like an oasis in the midst of chaos. It’s located in one of the busiest beach towns along the Emerald Coast. It’s an intimate wedding venue surrounded by oak trees dripping with Spanish moss, overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay and it was just the right place for Rebecca and Andrew’s unexpectedly rainy wedding.
Jenny & Justin’s spring time Napa Valley engagement session was just about the most perfect place to explore love. Only one thing could have made it better…we could have been there.
When you have to fight just for the right to get married, it’s that much more poignant when you finally say “I do”.
In the heart of Sonoma County, Anna & Andrew pledged to forever under the vines at Vintners Inn. And damn, it was incredible!
Before two of my very favorite people were married in Jasper, we celebrated their engagement with an exploration session in the Canadian Rockies.
