Jessica & Ravi
Indian Fusion Wedding at the Cliffs Hotel
Pismo Beach, California
.
Like everyone else, Jessica and Ravi put their lives on hold and postponed their April 2020 wedding. Over the course of a year, they let go of their elaborate plans, their huge guest list, and nearly every preconceived notion they had about their wedding. But what they got back in return was far more valuable.
Jessica, Ravi, and their dog Odin spent the year living and working side by side in a 300 square foot apartment. And if that doesn’t alter your perspective on life’s priorities, nothing else will. So they embraced the new low-key vibe of an Indian fusion wedding at the Cliffs Hotel and Spa in Pismo Beach that included a spaced-out ceremony and champagne toasts on the green. Instead of a reception, their friends set up a bonfire on the beach. It was relaxed and fun, and safe as it could be without losing the excited tenor of pre-covid weddings.
The whole weekend was packed with moments that made it unforgettable. Like when Jessica serenaded Ravi during the processional. Or when Ravi and Jessica’s mom hugged and their jeweled accessories got stuck together. And how no amount of trying could light the fire for the saptapadi. For many in attendance, nothing could beat the after-hours fun of sitting on the beach under the stars. Except maybe the cinnamon rolls at Old West Cinnamon Rolls Bakery on Sunday morning. It was worth the hour wait and I shamelessly licked the box they came in. Thank you Jessica and Ravi for sharing your wedding weekend with me. I’m so happy you’re finally married!
