When Jess woke up from her nap on a military flight heading back from a Middle East deployment, she saw the man that changed her life. With a couple of days layover in Qatar, Jess made time to seek out that devilishly handsome stranger and before her next flight left, she found him. Attracted and intrigued, yet short on time, they exchanged emails and parted ways.
Falling in love and sustaining a relationship in the toughest of conditions is no easy feat. But neither of them take the easy road. They both approach everything they do with steadfast dedication. A quality we could all use more of. Now three years of emails, calls and video chats later, both Jess and James are finally on the same continent and ready to begin their new lives together.
Downtown Pensacola
A few weeks ago I joined Jess and James in downtown Pensacola. It was fun to witness the side looks and soft touches they exchanged as we wandered from the Old Hickory Whisky Bar to the marina overlooking the bay. And next week we’ll celebrate together as they exchange more than flirty glances when they officially unite as one new family.
